Paul Laforet was a man who had a
legitimate option of avoiding the WWII to apply his skilled trade on the
home front. However personal obligation led Laforet’s ambition to join
the air force despite his tender age. He serves as a model for many who
wanted to serve above the waters and lands most of his comrades were
willing serve within and underwent the education needed to attain the
credentials to fly.
Upon his return from the war, Laforet
found himself in the midst of the 99 Day Ford Strike and the confusion
it had caused. Such an account of the circumstance gives the listener a
taste of how organized labor can both benefit and have the potential to
let down those returning from the front at a time when they wanted to
work most.
