Since the Windsor Historical Society was established in 2002, we have
benefited from the work of several volunteers and staff members. Some of
you may remember Mnal, Manjola, Mirko, Michael, Maggie and
Sam.
Mnal
and her children have returned to Saudi Arabia to join her husband. She
sends regards and good wishes to all of her former colleagues, Larry and
Louis, and also to Bill and Lil Lappan.
Manjola
has gone home to Albania for a visit. Upon her return to Canada, she will
be moving along with her family to Alberta where she expects to find work
in her field.
Mirko
visited the office while home on vacation from his studies at the
University of Victoria. He will be returning to UVic
in the fall to pursue his Doctorate.
Michael
stopped in to see us and reported that he is currently working on another
book about Windsor.
Maggie
and
Sam
have returned: Maggie will be taking care of the book-keeping for the
Society.

Sam is still working as our indispensable IT-guy. He is presently updating
our Website and will be continuing to interview Veterans in the
fall. Joining Maggie and Sam are the newest members of our team, Astha
Handa, Andreea Popescu, Ryerson Fitzpatrick and Dr.
Rita Devin. Astha,
after graduating from the University of Windsor, returned to India to
visit her family. Astha is our new Coordinator, office manager and
technology assistant. She is responsible for keeping us all on track and
organized.
Andreea
is our VIP Volunteer from the University of Windsor. She is creating a
logo for us and assisting us with graphic
design. She also brings great technological and liaison skills to our
organization.
Ryerson,
who you may remember from our previous two Veteran's Appreciation Day
Events, is a computer wiz and our most favorite
bagpiper. He will be organizing and updating the files on our 180 Veterans
and contacts. You can expect a call from him.
Dr.
Rita Devin (PhD) of
Image Wisdom External Relations has recently joined our team as Director of
Communications & Public Relations. She will be
responsible for consulting and strategic planning as well as writing,
editing and overseeing the production of all of
our communications. The Windsor Historical
Society invites you to come to our office to meet the team and check out
what we are working on. Please call
519 564-6474 to arrange a visit. Welcome! |
