The Windsor
Historical Society is dedicated to preserving the heritage of Windsor, promoting
interest in local history and facilitating research and education to reveal the
influence of local historical events and figures on the character of the city as
it is today.
The Society
is composed of staff members and volunteers with a variety of skills and
abilities. Some of us have research and archiving skills, others excel at
liaising with community partners and working with people, still others work
behind the scenes, keeping things organized and ensuring that everything is
going as planned. We are an inter-disciplinary team of administrators,
designers, technicians, planners, writers, fund-raisers - all of us with an
interest in discovering and celebrating the history of our city and sustaining
the memory of those who shaped it.
The Society has existed since 2002. A primary activity is the Veterans'
Memories Project which involves interviewing local Veterans to record their war-time
stories for present and future generations.
